Hey, my dad currently has a 1999 F-250 7.3L Powerstoke. In May I will be getting this truck and I was lookin for an exhuast system for it. I cant really decided what I want, I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions or know of any exhaust systems that make this truck sound like a semi. I was also wondering about putting a power chip in this truck.

Unless you want to be buying an engine as well because you melted it down with that power chip, start saving NOW for getting guages, then intake, exhaust, transmission cooler and/or shift kits. Then you can safely add the power and not worry about giving yourself a bank-busting repair bill.
Thar be truth in them words! I thought the external trans cooler added with the factory tow package would be sufficient. I'm now out $3480, a week's worth of downtime and the price of a rental car for a week. And right now the new transmission is sitting in the truck of the rental. Before it's all said & done, I'll have somewhere north of $4000 tied up in replacing the tranny.

I was just wondering how things were going for you.
Given the fact that I have almost 207k on the original parts, I opted for the TowMatrix monster tranny from Transmission Exchange, instead of just replacing whatever broke. I also instructed the shop to replace all the u-joints & the rearend lube as a precautionary measure. I really don't want to be doing this again.

Exhaust is a good place to start. There's a lot of different choices out there and a lot of it depends on how much you are going to fix up your truck. A 4" system is pretty common, and will handle most any horsepower you throw at it. Downpipes are critical, the stock is 3" with 3.5" exhaust. A 3.5" downpipe with 4" exhaust would work, you could go with a 4" downpipe, but the bigger the pipe the higher up the curve your torque goes, so it'll feel like you lost some low end torque, but it just moved up a little bit. Look for at straight thru muffler, or none at all. I have my stock exhaust straight piped, and it really let's the turbo scream, but need to upgrade with my chip. You want minimum flow restriction with a new setup. Once you get that done, come back and let us know and we'll spend more of your money on other fun stuff.
