I forgot about that. I was thinking F450/550, which Ford still does not offer with a pickup bed. I also don't think the SuperCrewzer is factory Ford equipment. It's done by an aftermarket company, isn't it?
superdutymj; My Dad has one of the lopro Internationals. It's one nice truck once you get past the doorhandle. Allison trans, 530HT, airride cab, airride seats, and airride rears. He needed something more than the stroker since he drags around one of those triaxle 18000# plus housetrailers, I mean 5th wheelers. The thing even has a jakebrake!! With that combination it makes some neat noises when your working it. It's alot of fun to drive, I'm glad it was his money. Kinda hurts my inheritance tho.
Just read the specs on the behemoth. What a disappointment. My little F-250 with the old 7.3 stroker has more towing capacity than that! Looks like this truck should be in the same catagory as a Hummer H2! Why bother with it? Even a new '05 SD is cheaper [ less expensive].

yes, ford does manufacture the SuperCrewzer. if you click on the SuperCrewzer link on the website, it has a little quote from the designer at Ford. the chassis under the chassis cabs are maybe half a foot or maybe a little bit longer than that than the light duty truck frames. if you mounted a bed on a stock chassis cab there would be a large gap between the cab and the bed. some people put spacers in there, but like the company making the F650 pickup, some folks cut the frame down, which looks better.
Thats What Pops Into My Mind When I See Them.(the International, and The Ford). I Like The Ford Better! I Guess If You Want A Severe Duty Pick Up These Probably Cant Be Beat, ill Stick With My Super Duty The Deno :
Superdutymj...........About the Scouts......The plant and test track is still there in Fort Wayne, Indiana where they were made. When they quit making Scouts, the IH Medium duty truck division moved into the Ft. Wayne plant until a strike by the Union. IH held out on the union, the union went broke and IH moved the truck making facilities to Springfield, Ohio. 21 years later, busses still fill up with union workers from Ft. Wayne and go to Springfield to work for the week and then go back to Ft. Wayne during the weekends.
Yes, it would be kind of neat to see Navistar, pop a gutsy diesel, into a new look modern scout and get into the market again.
Here in the Canton, Tx area a guy has about 25 Scouts sitting on his property. They look in pretty decent shape. Not rusted like they did up North on the salty roads. The ones you do see down here are in pretty good shape.
thanks for the info Hseries, i was unaware of that. ever since i was a little kid, i have wanted either a scout or a carryall. when i went to a summer camp in colorado, the campground used carryalls for transportation, and we rode in that thing everywhere, ever since then i have wanted one!
Agree on the scout, one cool machine. I give IH credit. I would rather look at one of these than some ccokie cutter, all look alike vehicles most manufactures are cluttering the asphalt with with.
