Engine fault codes/pinging
Hello, on a 93 4.0 auto, it pings even under a light load unless I burn premium. On a KOEO test, I get the following codes: 185 (mass air flow sensor below normal) 186 (fault in injector pulse width circuit - high) and 187 (fault in injector pulse width circuit - low). Can anyone point me in the right direction here? Is it time to have the injectors professionally cleaned? The engine has 142K with injectors never touched.

At that mileage, it might not be a bad idea to have the injectors cleaned. However, I suspect that the injector malfunction is an EFFECT, caused by the mass airflow sensor problem. I myself know VERY LITTLE specifics about the mass airflow sensors, but some who use this forum know much. I've heard (read) that if the sensor gets very dirty, it can act like you've described. You might simply need to clean out the MAF, CAREFULLY!!
