Frame changes

I was am looking to replace a rotted cross member on a 1984 F 150, but every one i have seen so far from that year has been rotted. My question is, wa sthere a frame change after 1986, or 1992? I was hopping to find one off of a 96 truck if i could.

I assume you are referring to the crossmember that holds up the gas tank, right?

96's will fit, and F250/350s upto 97 have the same ones as well.

the one i want is the one behind the crossmember the cab mounts to. Yes, it holds the front gas tank

80 to 96 (and 96-97 250's/350's) have the same frames.
