tranny wont shift sometimes
Ok first of all im new to this forum.. im usually in the bronco II forum. Anyway my girlfriends dad has a '99 F250 superduty with the 7.3L powerstroke. It has the stock automatic tranny but i dont know what it is. Anyway sometimes it wont shift. You can be at redline going 25 mph in the neighborhood. But it doesnt only do it in first gear. You can be going 55 mph and speed up a little to pass so it downshifts, but then it wont shift back up. I dont know if thats enough info for you guys, but the main thing im trying to find out is, do you think this is a mechanical problem or a computer problem?

tranny shift problem
install new speed sensor on top of rear axle. cost $20 and takes 2 minutes to change. then go to autozone and havt hem clear the codes in the ecm. Thats a start. also check for water in the wireing harness going to that sensore and look for wore spots in the wire harness. if it shorts to ground it causes all kinds of funky stuff to happen.
