Cracks and Leaks
Ok... that could sound wrong. So I haven't got thes problems fixed yet and its coming into winter & rainy season. I have the crack at the lower corner of the doors. I have found the TSB on that, as well as the leaky sliding back glass. My question is, how can I convince the Ford dealer to fix it free?
Um, if it's not in your stated in the warranty, in my bet they absolutely won't fix it for free. That's just my opinion of the Ford employees. You could though, go the "this will be my last Ford product I ever purchase" route, that sometimes works lol.
Ford doesn't fix anything. I love Ford and can't say that I'll never buy one again because their warranty policy is the worste, it's just that if I do buy another Ford truck after I kill mine, I'll just know ahead of time to hush up the salesperson when he starts talking about warranty, because Ford doesn't have one.
First off, Ford trucks were meant to modify.....So were Mustangs. They were designed specifically with aftermarket modification in mind.
Which brings me to my point.
I discovered yesterday that one of my exhaust manifold bolts broke off, and half of the bolt was still stuck inside the block. If I had a bolt extraction kit, I would have fixed it myself. But I don't. So, I brought my 1 year old truck to the dealer this morning and they said they won't fix it because "I PUT BIGGER TIRES ON MY TRUCK"!!!!!
I screamed at the top of my lungs and yelled at the guy and said "BUT IT'S A TRUCK!!!!!" "IT'S SUPPOSED TO HAVE BIG TIRES" "that's the whole purpose of buying a truck. And why would big tires cause my exhaust manifold bolt to break"
I spazzed!!!!! the guy got scared, because let's face it, I'm really big and tough looking!!!
Anyway, Ford has no warranty. When you buy their trucks or Mustangs, your buying them in "As Is" condition.
I think if you buy a minivan your ok, just don't put pinstriping on it

I know that their warranty, if they are called that, really sucks. A month after I bought my ranger (last truck) the transmision was getting hard to shift. I took it to them and asked what was up. They told me it was my clutch wearing out. I was quite confused by this, because my last truck was a stick and I beat the thing up offroad, and the clutch still lasted 120k. Its not like I was burning tires either as it really couldn't move itself with the 4 banger. They did however fix the leaky brake booster though. Oh did I mention that my gas pedal also came off one day on my way home from work too? The welds broke on the bracket to the fire wall mount.
My 25 year old bronco has less physical problems than my f150. yes, provided that the normal stuff is wearing out, seals drying up, etc.
I think my next car will be a chevy mini van with 22" DUB spinners, gold sparkle paint, with some mural airbrushed on the side. You know, you just can't go wrong with a chevy.........as a paper weight

The last time I took it there they said they wouldn't warranty it because I put a K&N filter into the stock filter housing. Seeing I went there for a cracked coil pack, I wonder what the heck they were doing even looking inside the intake housing.
Ya' know what though? Look, I know everyone makes fun of the 3 big rivals....chevy, ford and dodge. But they all are good trucks, really. Thing about the Ford is it really is the nicest looking one out there, especially all jacked up it really looks nice. Now everyones taste is different and some may beg to differ, but I'm the only one that matters as far as my likes are concerned. If and when i buy another truck (and who knows, I may have my Ford so long that by the time I go to buy another one they may all be electric) I will probably get a dodge. Problem with dogde is that although they look awsome on the outside, they are the ugliest pieces of junko on the inside. (again, in my opinion that is)

speaking of ugly interiors, have you checked out a toyota tundra? How can a $35,000+ have such an ugly interior. I rode in one the other day and was very unimpressed. Now the new 150.....I have to wear a bib when I ride in my friends. I know, I know thats probably TMI. BUT I had to say it.

In my opinion, yes the interior of the new f-150's do not look like trucks. They are more SUV like, and definately not utilitarian anymore. The lines of the dash and interior say I'm strong and manly but I embrace my feminine side as well. Overall, It is a way comfortable interior that you would not expect in a truck. The seats have a large comfortable recliner like feel, but have the support and firmness of an import sports car. The interior cabin noise is by far quieter than the last generation f150. The ride is alot smoother as well. With the new hydroformed frame, the truck has less frame flex than the older style "C" channel frame, greatly reducing the frame bounce an the highway. Ford really did an excellent job at designing this truck. Plus its a 30k truck that my friend got for 19k. PLus I like the exterior design as well. I've always liked more squared off trucks like my bronco, and with the new style, they did an excellent job at keeping the nice rounded curves of the 99-03 f150, while making the lines sharper and crisper, making the overall look a little more squared off.
Ok, now I feel like a writer for car and driver.

Second, the optional Captains Chairs in my XLT are exactly the same as the new 04's. Very tall and firm like a jap seat. I love them. The freakin' seats WILL outlast the entire truck without 1 inch of sag in them ever. When the truck is dead, i'm going to take the seats out and put them in my garage to sit on. They are freakin' awsome. My friends F150's seats are beat after 50K miles. I sink to the floor and can barely see out the window when I sit in them.
