Locker or not to Locker

I am changing my 3.55's to 4.56's (new carrier also) in newly acquired and installed D44 straight axle. I do not do alot of four wheeling, 3-4 times a year minor stuff whille hunting and camping. I was thinking if I ever put a locker in now would be the time. Any sugestions on what for my needs.

For your uses a locker is not needed, nor particularly desireable, unless you want to spring for a selectable.

I agree with Pro, unless you're talking about a locker in the rear. In that case, go for it! Locker in the front isn't needed by 95% of truck owners, in my opinion.

A limited slip would more that suit your needs if you only plan on using it only a few times a year.

yea man, go ahead and get the electracs for your front and rear! you'd be surprised what you can do with that and not have to buy tires.....although then you would be unstoppable for the kinds of things you use your truck for! i wanna put Electracs in front and rear of my tow-biitch so i don't have to worry when i am pulling my rig up those steep gravel roads when i go 4 wheeling in NC

Maybe put truetracs front and rear. They run about 310 each. Another option would be Powr Lok ls which run ~345 each.

Edit: Pro, your new avatar scares me.

Yea, I think for his uses a powr lok would be the best idea.

This actually was my avatar here many years ago. But when Ken sized down the avatar space back then I had to change it to the other one you guys are familiar with. I recently found this again in a smaller size so I thought I'd use it for old times sake.
