I was on the Ford website pricing an '05 PSD, and saw the power take off provision (I don't recall what the charge for it was, and it doesn't matter I guess), and was sort of stummped as to what this might be.
Does it have something to do with the gearing?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I am unable to do a search of the site, due to restricted access rights or something.

Power takeoff provision is nothing more than a secondary provisional gear output on the side of the transmission case for the installation of a power take-off unit. These units are for to provide direct drive power to auxilliary air compressors, generators, or hydraulic units for wreckers, slidebacks, crane trucks, ect.
