wires needed?

Have 1979 Ford Ranger 100. Auto Tranny. 302 Motor. Approx 160,000 miles.

Replaced: fuel pump, new carb with electronic choke, plugs, cap/rotor.

Out of the blue, in the mornings, truck bogs badly, hestitation. Its starts fine and seems to idle okay. At night, dont see any arcing (dont know if that means anything ) But after take off truck bogs and hesitates. There is alot of condenstation (dew) in early in the mornings. husband says when he drives it and warms up real good, seems to smooth back out. he thinks the "return spring" on carb not strong enough. I dont know.

Husband says after warms up, ok. He said he noticed the heads on the wires looked cracked. Would that do it? We have tons of condensation in the mornings from dew. I had a similar problem with a older firebird, and as soon as i replaced the wires, the problem was solved.

Cant think of anything else to look at that would make it run rough..-Thanks for any advice

Yes, that would cause some trouble. Cracked wire boots and moisture are a bad combination. Replace them.

Also, is the choke adjusted correctly? Is there 12volts of power to the choke coil? The old factory coil uses less power, so you need to run a new wire for a aftermarket electric choke carb.
