Question about "Duraspark".......

I had someone ask me yesterday about the Duraspark ignition in his 83 Bronco. He says that once it warms up, it just dies like someone turned the key off. He checks the coil, and it is just burning hot. He'll switch out the coil with a new one, and it'll usually fire right up again. So it sounds to me like the coils are burning up, but I was hoping people with a little more knowledge than me could help..... Thanks a lot

it was common on these for the ing module to cause this. Not sure about burning up the coil, but the module would over heat and not allow the truck to start until it cooled. Especialy if it has been replaced with an aftermartket one. He should try a Motorcraft one.
