16.5"x11" rims, what size tires will work?

I have a set of 16.5"x11" steel 8-lug rims. What is the nominal width for a set of 38" tires for this size rims?

Thanks in advance,
DG808

Most tire manufacturers recommend that the tire section width not exceed the rim width by more than two (2) inches and be no narrower than the rim itself. 38's should be available in a section width well within that parameter. I know someone running 33 x 9.50's on an original '69 Bronco just so she doesn't have to cut the fenders. Check the maufacturer's websites for section widths. BFGoodrich lists every detail about their tires and I'm sure others do as well. (Personally have never run anything else on mine).
