EGR Elimination

What's wrong with eliminating the EGR valve on an '88 ranger? Reading through some old posts, I am wondering if my problem isn't because of a faulty EGR system.

EGR Elimination

The 89 2.9 came without EGR. You may get some spark knock since it tends to reduce it. The computer will keep looking for it so you will get a code.
