What is the payload capacity of a 2000 f-250 7.3L single axle of course. I have 3300 pounds on a pallet centered on the axle. Is this cool? Clearance and stuff is fine, my only concern is the tires and bed. I have to go about 85 miles through LA, so it is very bumpy. What should my tire pressure be? should I turn off the Superchips mod? Would I be better off renting a trailer?
That load will put you at or a bit over GVW for the truck. IF you have load range "E" tires, fill 'em to max pressure (80-85psi). If load range "D", you might be exceeding their capacity. You can confirm the GVW by checking the sticker on the driver's door jamb. SCMT setting should be one of the tow settings, not HP. Might want to drive a bit slow & try to miss the worst holes. I drag trailers over those roads a lot, so I feel your pain.
Thanks, GVWM said 8800 I couldn't find any letters (d, or e). I have the add a leaf, tires just seem low. 101 to 405 from ventura to carson, nightmare.
The only UHaul trailer with that much capacity is the auto transport. You'd have to somehow secure the pallet between the rails. Or you could put 1/3 of the load in the truck & put the rest on the 6x12 double-axle UHaul open trailer. To get a trailer to carry the full pallet, you'd have to find a contractor's equipment rental shop with heavy-duty utility trailers.
