Body lifts are poor choices. They will not hold up to sustained abuse. They also cause many retrofit issues (altering linkages, bending brackets, remounting of radiator, and fan shroud, gas filler neck extension, custom brackets to mount bumpers, etc..). It has also been noted that under side to side suspension movement (ie...offroad), the blocks can become unstable, and be spit out the side. Also, if you haul or carry a lot of weight in your bed, would you trust a piece of polycarbonate block to hold the weight, and maintain their rigidity?
Not to start an arguement, but I think body lifts are not all that bad. If you're after ground clearance, then you need bigger tires...suspension lifts don't give you better ground clearance. Body lifts allow larger tires (to an extent) and don't look half bad. I hade on on my 2wd ranger (gallery) and it worked great! Followed all instructions and the kit came with all extended links, wires, etc. I've had both suspension and body lifts and they both have their good and bad aspects. Just depends what you really want. in regards to the bed, most lifts come with metal spacers for the bed, which you are supposed to weld into place to prevent them from falling out. The poly. blocks are held in with bolts so they won't move. Just my $.02
