Okay, today i discovered that there are probalby some dead rodents burried in my ventalation system. When you turn on the blower to any speed, a burst of stench comes out at you. My question is, what is my best bet of finding them? Should i attack from the engine compartment by the blower motor? Or should i rip apart the dash and dig everything out?
Its not the smell of antifreez is it??? if so its probly a bad heater core.
pull the dash pad off, pull out the glove box then you can remove the heater box/heater core/fan assembly. the rest is somewhat accesbile from there, you may or may not have to remove the dash assembly tottaly to get the vents out, but with the heater box out youll get a good look at everything....
i just finished doing a heater core in my 85, you dont need much just a screwdriver a few sockets, extensions, universal and I had a set of those bendable extensions, ya know the ones that are a spring, they helped alot.....
Once you remove the offensive source of this odor you will want to get rid of that smell. Here are a couple of things that will work 1) put fresh coffee grinds in the vents, or 2) charcoal. They both do a fine job at absorbing odors.

I might do that, im still getting a wiff of antifreez every once in a while....
