c-6 adjustment

is there any benifet from adjusting the bands on the trans and right behind the shift linkage on the trans there is a square plug what is that

heres how to adjust it. loosen the big lock nut, i think its 15/16, then tighten the square bolt to 110- 120 INCH pounds, next back it off 1.5 turns and retighten the lock nut. thats all you do.

The plug is a oil p.s.i. test port. My C6 has well over 200k on it & I've never adjusted it.
