Replacing Clutch

I'm helping another member replace his clutch on his 1980 F-150 with an 300 cid I6. The tranny is 4 speed and 4th is overdrive (3rd is 1:1). How difficult is it to get out? Any special tools needed? Any suggestion would be great help.

Thanks,
Jon

I should have mentioned that you'll need a clutch alignment tool - that should come with the new clutch. You should also have the flywheel face resurfaced/turned at a machine shop.

what else helped me was putting the front end up on a set of ramps. something else that might make it ezer is to remove the tranny cross member to make it ezer to get out. i removed the floor pan istead of the cross memeber and its a bit more work and lots more fun to get back in. also when you take the flywheel off put some red thread locker on the flywheel bolts.
