I recently purchased a junked '81 f250 4x4 standard cab with a 4.9 I6. I'm almost a 100% sure that I'm reading the door tag right, it says "37" for the axle code. I haven't been able to find anything that lists a 37 as anything. I need an assist for this one. Thanks in advance.
yeah I'm in the same boat only i have an E-350 bus with a 460 and a C6 with an axle code of 33, and i haven't been able to find anything. However if it was a limited slip (a letter in the code such as H or a D) a rule of thumb i discovered is if it has a 9 following he letter then it has 3.54 gears and if it has a 5 then it has 4.10s

best thing is to buy something from the ford parts, then tell the guy to look up the code
