Anyone see the commercials for the 05 Super-Dutys during football Sunday.
It goes by real fast, but at the bottom of the screen, I could swear that it says 19,200# towing capacity: Late availability.
Am I seeing things? Anyone got the facts on that?
I've already ordered mine. I wish the salesman new about this. He knew what I was getting the truck for. I could have waited a little while for it, but not till next fall.
I've seen two versions of the same commercial. One touting the 19,200 lb capacity and one touting a 17,000 lb capacity. Sad thing is they are showing a crew cab (4x4?) dually towing a trailer with fine-print disclaimer that the specifications are for a regular cab 2wd truck.
I saw something on TV about this. The 17000 number was the prerelease number so that the competition wouldn't know in advance. Ford then released the 19200 number at the last minute to give them the edge in the super duty market.
I had the same questions about the higher tow ratings. See TOWBOSS thread in the TOWING section. Seems the 4.30 will be available with the PSD in DRW's.
