Impressed...

Friend just bought an 04 Powerstroke FX4 250 Lariat. NICE truck.... made me want one. We rode around to turkey shoots and fball games.... truck accelerated much better than any Triton truck I've ridden in. Sat up high like a truck should. The friend was supposed to get a 2500 HD Duramax, but they sold out before the shipment even got in... and he didnt have time to wait. I know you'll say he got the better truck... but I liked both... I give the GMC the edge... cuz I like the looks... but thats beside the point. The F250 was an awesome truck, and all the looks from girls wasn't bad either. Which brings me to my next point.... anyone willing to trade a F250 diesel 4x4 for a reg cab f150 4.6?

Yea I have to agree with you on the point of the GMC's looking much better. If I had to buy anything other than a Ford, it would be a GMC. They have a much more refined and sophisticated look then the Aztec front end Chebby's. Glad your buddy likes his truck, and I'm glad you like it too!!!!

Your friend made the rightchoice. Ill bet youll never see him in a GMC after the Ford experience. One thing I like about the superduties. Im always looking down on everybody else. Be dog gone if imgoing to be in a truck and have someone looking down on me.

ford was the best pic

i followed my dad and a buddy down to florida in a winstar van .we traveled at 70 m/hr at all times. dad has 2004 ford scab with a 6.0 litre and a 33 foot tralier. my buddy got a 2004 chev diesel scab with the same trailer. on the flat the chev worked good but at the top of the hill ford was there first. the ford was a little better on fuel. my 2002 scab with a v10 is being replaced with a 2005 scab diesel. i like the v10 till i stop at the pumps . the waiting is killing me

So is your 05' on order then?? Only reason I ask is supposedly they are suppose to have some awesome rebates in November for SD's, so just make sure you don't pick it up before then, unless you already got a better deal.

Best of Luck,
Corey

P.S. I've personally never owned anything but a diesel, so I guess I'm curious if you really do get 7-9mpg with the v10.

Ill bet youll never see him in a GMC after the Ford experience.

IDK bout that... he says he likes the ford but wishes he had the GMC... just a prefeence thing I guess, another reason he wanted the GMC was it woulda costed him a little less money, and just getting started in the constructino business he was trying to save a few dollars.

Save him more money now and cost him more later. His new Ford is a much better truck. It will cost him less in the long run. You pay for what you get. Fords more of a work truck it will hold up better.

I dont like the GM look. I think its a little soft and girly. Also the IFS has no place on a HD truck. The Duramax doeseant seem to be a bad engine though.

Iagree with you 352. The superduty with its solid front axle is an intimidating truck. Get the two next to each other you wouldnt get the GMC. Going from a superduty to a GMC would be major step backwords in my view.

Unless you want a car, I agree, it's a BIG step backwards.

one of my friends has a 3500 duramax chevy and once youre inside of it it feels just like the 1500. thats one thing i like about fords, is that the 250 and 350 is actually a different and better truck than the 150. the chevy just looks puny sitting next to a dodge and ford.

IMO, both are quality trucks, but I have heard about more problems with Ford diesels than Chevy's, but anyways I rode with him on the test drive of the GMC, and I liked it alot. I liked both trucks, and this will suprise you, it sat at the same height the Ford did. I like GMC for their more refined look, but thats just my opinion. Both trucks were overkill for what he needed, but hey this is America, if he wants a big honkin diesel thats what he should get.

This year GM raised the height of the GMC and Chevy truck line, but no doubt both ford and chevy are good work trucks it just depends on what field of work you want to put these trucks to use. 08 is the year for the GMT900 frames for the GM trucks and GM is considering swapping out the ifs for a sfa cause of the diesel engine there making, the wieght would cause to much wieght up front and if equipped with ifs, this would cause some saggin of the front, but rumor has it that they might go for a dana 60 or smaller to stuff under the chevy/gmc trucks so it wont look like a two wheeler instead of four, but yeah GM did raised there trucks 2 inches in height so go figure.

Only the 6.0L could be called less relaible then the GM diesel. The 7.3L is TEN TIMES more relaible then the GM disel. That is proven.

I have to fully agree with this statement. Performance and marketing don't create reliability. 'Time' does
