'05 V10 six speed..
Almost the same as my '99 and '02, super cab, 4WD, long bed. First impression of the coil springs up front is a good one. Much more compliant ride than the leafs on paved surfaces. Turning diameter is about five feet less than previous models.
As far as power, this one will SMOKE my previous SD's, no comparison ! Engine is so quiet I can hardly hear it. No "tin" exhaust or trans. plate rattle either. From about 3200 rpm or so, it feels like the secondaries of a four barrel carburetor open up, and this big truck moves NOW !
The first tank of fuel lasted 410 miles, low fuel light was still not on, but I chickened out and filled up anyway. Thirty-one gallons, which came out to 13.22 mpg. Not bad on the no name fuel from the dealer.
What I do not like:
The plastic splash guards in the rear wheel wells are no longer installed, as is the nylon net for storage under the rear seat.
Also, I ordered the optional "Upfitter Switch" panel on the dash, so I could install my electrical trinkets without butchering up the plastic. Too bad there is not one word in the alleged owners manual concerning the current rating or the location of the plug to connect anything. Did I mention
?I'll post an update on my first confirmed kill of an off brand truck, as well as anything horrible that might happen.
Stay tuned.
The info on th upfitter switches is in there, you just have to accept Fords humor of putting it all over the place instead of printing something logical like "UpFitter location and user guide."
I am nursing a funky cold righ now so don't want to repost the info.

Sounds like the new V-10 is gonna be a winner so far ,,
Congrates on the new truck !,,,,,,,,,,,Later,,,,,,,,,,,Mark
I ordered this one with the 4.10's. I do a lot of highway driving without much of a load. When I do pull my trailer, it weighs slightly less than 7500 pounds, which is nowhere near the max limit. If it were heavier and I towed more, the 4.30 would be my choice. I was trying to balance highway mileage and towing ability, So far so good.
