C6 trans question

C6 trans question

Okay, here's the deal...my truck is a 74 F100 4*4...the engine and tranny are supposedly out of a 78 (it is a 400 with a C6 behind it). I have another C6 that I pulled out of a 65 F100 4*2. I should be able to build this new tranny and just switch out the output shaft housings so that I can attach back up to the transfer case, correct?

Hopefully I am making sense...I know nothing about transmissions so...

If the c6 has the right bell housing bolt patern. The only thing you will need is the output shaft, a short one. The the case extension just bolts on, you can bolt your's on when you do the switch.
