Payloads and towing

Well I was looking at the FAQs on the top, and came up with some numbers

20000 total Gross combined, and 11000 for the truck only. Am I looking at the right numbers? I have a 1999 7.3 CC DRW. Also why is CA less than the other states? Thanks. BTW those FAQs are great, Good job guys.

My friend has the same truck you have and he pulls a huge camper and
a large speed boat at the same time. No problem and I'm sure he is way
over the weight limit.

CA inflicts smog requirements on vehicles, lowering their load carring capacity. those numbers look right if you know how to haul those kinds of weight. If you do then you also know how much you can push the limits.
