I thought about something like that, but...the plexiglass is probably more expensive than the tile it would be protecting (and probably easier to scuff up, too). That's the beauty of this surface...it's so cheap that if I mess up a square, I unpeel it and get another one for $.97...

Personally,
I think that looks down right awesome. Maybey Ill do that myself on my homemade bench. I've got a couple of benches a sixfoot metal and an eight foot wooden made out of 2x6's sandwiched together and then bolted up with some 4x4 legs. I also like the idea of the angle iron on the front gives it a nice clean look.
