install pickup/stator
Hi,
I need some advice, tips or special tools needed to install a pickup/stator on my truck. What's a good brand name to buy?
I've already replaced the control module but the problem of not starting untill the module cools down is still there, along now with just dying while driving. I read on a post that replacing the pickup/stator could solve my problem. I'm going to try it. I believe the pickup/stator is also called a pickup coil.

Always have your modules tested before replacing them. It is free at most good parts stores.
Changing the pickup coil is not difficult. I made a tiny little puller tool by cutting down a small el-cheapo aluminum C-clamp I bought at Radio Shack. I used a couple of magnets to keep the roll pin from getting away. I keep the C-clamp, magnets and an extra roll pin in a small plastic pouch.
