Just Ordered Carb for 460
Anyways, I can't wait to get this thing fired up. It would run before, but just barely, and it would leak fuel all over the intake manifold. It also needs new plug wires, but those are cheap. Future plans are a Performer RPM intake manifold, custom exhaust, and possibly heads and timing set from a pre-emisions 460. I should've had a carb on it a year ago, but the one that I ordered was lost (stolen) in the mail
(insurance money turned into a Diablo chip instead).I appreciate anyones help. I'm sure as I get into this thing I'll have more questions. Thanks all for your input.

Holley's are factory carbs for a Ford, mine said Motorcraft on it as well. They are a little tricky to tune, have too many gaskets and are a pain in the ****. Your Edelbrock should go on without too much troubles, and if you read the booklet carefully, you can tune those things to tear up the pavement. The best thing about Edelbrocks are the fact that you can actually change jets with the carb on the engine. You can also change the rods and springs without taking anything off except the little side plates that hold them in.
One thing to remember is to not tighten the nuts on the base plate too tight, you can crack it. Put some plumbers tape on the plug that goes on the back into the large threaded hole. If you don't, you could have a massive vacuum leak. You might have to do a little tuning to get it right, but I think that it shouldn't take more than 10 or 15 minutes to get it running right. Turn the two idle adjustment screws in the bottom front IN to lean it out and OUT to richen it up. Take your time and listen to the engine, it will tell you when it's right. GOOD LUCK!!
