front axle decode

My truck is 86 F 250 w/ 351 4x4 and the gvwr is 8800 lbs or close to it(cant remember off top of my head). Here is what on the tag on the front axle.
4 10 E6TA VA
610254-2

I know I've got 4.10 gears but from this can you tell what model it is? A Dana 44 or 50 or 60. I also assume its not a limited slip. Thanks Jason

It should be a dana 50 (dana 60's didn't come till 87 and they are a solid axles not the TTB), one way to tell is by the size of the hubs. If uses the same hub as a hald ton then its a 44, if the hubs are larger then its a 50. And you are right it isn't limited slip.

It's a D50 with 4.10 gears. The "610254-2" Is the Dana bill of materials, which can be looked up here: www2.dana.com/expert

As for D60's, those were only put in F350's, starting in 85.5, 80-97 F250's never got a solid axle.
