I do not know a dam thing about broncos. I have one that I am doing up. It has a black paint job with black fiber glass top it is a 1995 model. Should i go with 2 types of black paint 1 for top and 1 for body or just do both of them the same way. I want it to look great we all do ANY RECOMMENDATIOS would be greatly appreciated. THANKYOU !
One MAJOR key with black paint is to make sure the body is PERFECT.... any, and I mean ANY imperfections in the sheet metal will stand out like the proverbial $2 you know what in church
I have experience painting... I can sure help with advice...
Remember they saying "You get what you pay for"
Go with the two stage painting system...
Buy Base Coat / Clear Coat from your Automotive Paint store NOT AutoZone or a regular parts store...
Separate the "TOP" from the "Body"
Stage One of painting: (Base Coat)
Paint the doorjambs, underhood, inside tailgate and the TOP - With the Base Coat paint.
Stage Two of paining: (Clear Coat)
Paint the doorjambs, underhood, inside tailgate, and the BODY - With the Clear Coat.
I left the inside of mine (doorjambs, underhood, inside tailgate) a Satin Finish to match the TOP. This saved me clear for the exterior body and allowed me to have 7 coats of clear.
