I'm here because it's the best place to learn all there is to know about Ford trucks.

Because it's the best place to get help with your problems... ANY of them.

Because you can ask about ANYthing you're curious about (see Mike W...)

Because it's full of the best people anywhere around, and it's a great place to spend your time.

I found it while doin a search to find wire colors for the stereo in my truck. Got the truck last August, and have been posting here ever since. What a great site, too. Like mentioned above, you can find help on anything, not even just Fords.

i, like most, had a problem with my truck, and found this site looking for advice. i got great help, and always have since. i found the non-automotive discussion group after the other forums got my truck up to snuff(still on the way). i still look around down there in the hopes that the knowledge i have gained on this site might help someone, but it doesnt happen very often! i like it up here because i love to give my opinion and no one can interrupt me!

Why Am I Here?

It's a looooooooooong story, but here's the Reader's Digest version:

I had just gotten back into the car business, and I was unsure how to get into the Ford dealer website (you gotta show me this stuff more than once...). So, I went to Yahoo! search and typed in "ford trucks." Guess what came up first. Hint: it wasn't the Ford dealer website. I found the forums, particularly the New Truck Buyer Forum (as it was then called). I started going thru the threads, reading the posts, and I just couldn't believe the misinformation that people here were having to put up with (car dealers! ). I started answering questions, and nearly 3 years later......

The greater question should be: why do we REMAIN here? Neither of us have the time for all my reasons, but they are many. And yes, it really does go beyond the trucks (and so far, one 2005 Mustang ) that I've sold here. I mean, here it is 8:00 on a Saturday night, at home, and I can't tear myself away! It's an outstanding all-around site, and it all comes down to what makes anything like this great: the people involved. From those that have developed it and maintain it, to all the members that contribute their part, it's all these people that make FTE what it is. What never ceases to amaze me are the variety of people I've met thru the Purchase Program. Civil servants, high-powered entrepeneurs, executives, laborers, salespeople, government officials: there are no stereotypical "truck drivers" here, but a cross-reference of the entire American public. Truly amazing, at least for me.

And you'll get to meet all these wonderful people next summer, at the 2005 FTE Chapter National Meet. All I need to know is when and where, and my bags are packed. Please, if there's any way you can make it, I urge you to be there. I've already talked to Ken, and already there's some really neat stuff planned. You will not be disappointed, but it takes PEOPLE to make it happen. See you all in 2005! (Can you tell I'm pumped? )

My dad intruduced me to this site, and I joined right away.
This place is filled with great people, with lot's of knowledge and gettin not only one right answer usally, I get several from different POV and experiances.
And out of aolt of the forums, this one is so outstandingly easy to navigate, and I like that even sometime tempers get a little warm, I dont have to wade through post after post of vulgar language when adults start acting like young teen's.

Why am I here? Many times I have pondered this question. It goes back to about three years after my parents were married, when a certain act was performed....oh wait, you mean here on FTE! That's different. Many times I have pondered this question. It goes back to, oh about last June when I bought my Ranger and did a Google search on 2.9 cracked heads, and the rest is history! -TD

I was directed here by a banjo-player while searching for info on my `65. Besides the NOAH Radar site its the only site that I frequent. As of late haven"t had time but I"m home for the day so thought I"d catch up on things.

Seriously, I started here lurking about in the Power Stroke Diesel sections because I was interested in buying one and the discussions at the time about WVO interested me and wanted to find out more about running WVO. I see now discussing WVO is contraban.
I previously worked as a contractor at the place where non-petrol burning engines are built. Don't need to say more about that. I no longer work there and it's doubtful I'll be asked to go back.
Now I'm looking for a truck, was looking at Ranger but it's insurance is as much as a Mustang. New F-250 SD with 6.0 is out of my price range but I am looking into pre-2002 7.3s as they seem to be coming down in price.
