I have 1990 Bronco II, 2.9L V-6, it started idling funny. It almost sounds as though it is trying to flood, or load up. It will also kinda of pulse idle between 500-750 RPMs. This all started just out of the blue, it runs graet down the road it just idles weird. If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate them.
My 87 bronco2 did the same thing.. all i did was run some fuel injector cleaner through it, and it later ran fine.. Another thing you could do is reset your whole computer. Disconnect the battery for about 1 or 2 minutes, then put it back on, then start up the engine and let it idle for 10 - 15 minutes.. i did this, and it runs like a charm. (900rmp idle speed)
Hey i had the same prob in my 89' bronco 2, ran it through the computer and it came up as a sensor.... best bet is to take it to the shop have them check the computer codes and see what it is, but try the fuel injecter cleaner first and reset the computer to, it may just be that easy.... sensor for my truck didnt cost a whole lot either.
Hope this helped

I tried the reseting the computer, put on new fuel filter, new PCV valve, and cleaned my O2 sensor, and got my exhaust leak fixed, fired it up and same thing, idles between 500-800 RPM's back and forth like you are giving it gas. I had already run injector claeaner through it. My buddy has a decoder to hook up to it I guess that is my next step.
Well hooked it up to decoder and only code came up was 95 a open fuel pump circuit. What ever the hell that means. Does it mean my fuel pump is bad or does it mean I have a electric problem. I noticed that my headlights and my volt gage fluctuate with my weird idle. I need help.
Idle is fixed!! I finally broke down and took it to my local Ford dealer. Afew hours and $65 later it was fixed. The culprit was a bad EGR vale. The spring inside was broke and letting it stay open all the time. They just plated it off and unhooked the vacum hose. Did not replace it becaus there was no wiring harness plug for it to plug into, at least this was their explanation. It now idles around 800 RPM's smooth and pretty.
