Question about transmition tunnel ?
Im ready with all the stuff to put a C6 into my 1966 F100 with 352, I read on one of the treads somthing about having to cut out the trany tunnel to clear the bellhousing, Now my truck does not have a removeabull tunnel top. It's all one peice, So am I going to have a clearance problem? It currently has a 3 speed with overdrive ( that doesnt work ) and if I do have to cut it out who make a cover for it? both trucks at the local yard ( 67,79 ) neather has a removeabull tunnel and they both had auto in them..

I'm sorry but all of the trucks I have seen have a separate tunnel top on them... Seems I recall if your truck had a stick in it, there should be room for the auto to fit, but you need to cut/adjust if the original was an auto (COM) and you are moving up to a C6

You should have no clearance problems. I have the same thing and no issues. If by some strange reason, you need a cover, I believe the 67'-'72 trucks have the same floor so you could use the covers from any of those.

Steven, I pulled a 3 speed and installed a C6 with no clearence problems. There is one concern though, the crossmember is rivited in for the st. dr. and bolted in for the auto. I installed my tranny and engine together no problems, but needed to pull it after a bit and we had to cut the rivits. We put grade 8s back in.
