take the intake tube off get some carb and choke cleaner spray and an old tooth bursh open the throttle flap and spray the gun in there and use the toothbrush to scrub. then after done cleaning leave the throttle plate open to let everything evaporate out usually like 5 min will do or so then put intake back on and turn key to on position so that fuel pump turns on then crank it over. might hesistate or try to die but it just dont like burning that cleaner especially with all the black crud that would be in there...
Ok farmall hauler I took my truck to a tranny guy today and found out that it is not the tranny but my harmonic balancer is bouncing all around which it is not supposed to so more then likely there is where my problem is. If you start the truck look under the hood and look at the pulley on the very bottom and it should be smooth rolling if not then that is a problem cause it will throw everything off. Mine my sensor on there is not getting the correct reading so therefore the pcm doesn't know what gear or anything the truck is in and what it should do next. I am going to have that replaced and hopefully that is all the problem is and I will let you know further.

With all the money you guys spent shotgunning parts you could have had a good dealer fix it for about half the cost. If smoke came out from under the hood when using the Seafoam you also have an exhaust leak somewhere or a cracked header.
Well tmorris1 the ford dealer wanted to charge me $270 to track down a wire to the pcm cause they thought that was the problem so that is not true. When you take it to a Ford dealer they are supposed to know about fords right? I don't mind spending that money cause I know that those parts are good and if they go bad again they are under warranty. I tried taking it to a dealer and that is what I got so I would have spent more then that by the time they were done because of labor added to that.
I guess it depends on the dealer. My dealer experiences have been pretty good. My truck has been rock solid reliable, so I have been lucky. Hope you get it running good soon.
remember not all mechanics are created equal.... most of em out there really dont know alot. before my dad retired he was the 8th top Ford mechanic in the US top grossing and top knowledgable. kinda cool and something to brag about lol
