oil burner

Depending on how hard I am working my truck, '00 7.3, I burn up to about 3 quarts of oil, delo 400, every oil change, roughly 5000 miles, any Idea what is causing this...what I can do to prevent it?

Oh yeah I bought it used...

mine uses about the same, but I have a small EBPV leak. I have never given it any thought and would worry to much about it. Hard driving is probably causing it to disappear out the CCV, thats my thought, I would really worry about it.

Mine used to use about that much. I took the CCV out of the intake and dropped it down about a quart. I still use around 2 quarts. I also have a small leak somewhere in the valley.
