I know who they are but what about them? Rather than try to ask each one individually, how about they take a moment to post here? What do you do? Why are you here? How did you get to be a moderator.

I'm Matt...
Been here for a year and a half...
I'm a counterman for Bumper to Bumper...
I own 5 Ford trucks from 1968 to 1979, (1968, 71, 74, 79, 79) 2 & 4wd alike.
I'm also part owner of an 02 Jeep WJ, 93 Escort, 88 Escort, 87 Ranger, & 83 Ranger.
I'm also on two race teams...
I've done quite a few engine swaps, so thats my forum.
I'm an avid hunter, fisherman, backpacker, hard rock climber, long range rifle shooter, environmental activist, and all that jazz... I hate being inside, I don't like working from a desk.
I love Classic Rock... AC/DC, Zep, Rush, The Doors, The Who, Greenday, Weezer, The Smashing Pumpkins, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Boston....

I don't know why I'm always on FTE, at the end of the day, I don't wanna argue with people anymore... I come for a chuckle, news, to spread a little knowledge...

I got to be a moderator because I started the High Plains Drifters, then they made that in control of a president, instead of a moderator, and they gave me the Engine Swaps forum...

They won't let me use the words that describe me here...

You can find out about me on my FTE web page. I like teaching and helping people. I found this site several years ago and started posting a lot in the garage and workshop forum. They eventually asked me to become a mod and the rest is history.

Hi, I'm Dick. I live in the beautiful state of Montana and am an Internet Junkie. I spent the first 6 years online using Yahoo Chat and moderating my own Group ( Forum so to speak) there. Eventually I assigned a couple others to help me out even though the group is tiny compared to the amount of users in FTE. I also hung out in a couple chatrooms where we had become a pretty close knit group. Some nites we sing...yeah, me too...other nites we just babbled. Eventually, each night I would do some surfing and landed in the Bigfoot 4x4 website, where I discovered the link to FTE. After kind of a rocky start here....some misunderstanding on my behalf... and the given chance to redeem myself, I have since nearly replaced my chatroom with FTE.

I am also the Chapter Leader of the High Plains "Drifters" Chapter. When FTE decided to go with Leaders, I either volunteered or was elected...I'll have to check my notes ( and my sanity ) to figure out which. I am in the slow process of trying to bring the four states of Montana, Wyoming, North and South Dakota together, into one large Chapter.

I have worked in Human Services for most of my life, with some varying jobs interspersed. I started working with Developmentally Disabled adults, then went to work for the National Park Service for around 5 seasons, before returning to human services and the Mental Health field, after my last back injury.

I seem to have a bit of a gift of gab (so I'm told), stay up late quite often because of my wierd work schedule, so I spend a lot of time here, bouncing from forum to forum looking for activity. I ended up doing a lot of greeting people..since that was the most active forum for a while. The other mods watched me and decided that I might be a reasonable candidate to be the FTE Greeter. ( Another 15 years, if I make it that long, I'll be a perfect candidate for Greeter at Wally World!!) Just kidding. I have found that moderation in a group this large and with so many new people joining us daily, to be a lot more than I expected...but still pretty enjoyable.

I love to hunt and fish, target shoot, build plastic models, carve antler into belt buckles or other critters, collect diecast FORDS in 1/24th and 1/18th scales. I also have a few larger diecast, but have run out of room..so now I need a larger house for the wife and myself to overfill with junk again.

OK..'nuff 'bout me...NEXT!!!

Well, I may not be as exciting as Mil1ion or Monsta, but I'll pipe in next anyway.

I'm probably much older than many on the site, but that's none of your business.

I've been an accountant since 19.... specializing in litigation support but also do taxes, bookkeeping and some accounting program training.

I presently live in WPB, Fla. and have come to realize that I really hate hurricanes.

I don't really have any favorite hobby - I like to do just about anything to make something that looks good whether it be crocheting a baby blanket for a friend, reupholstering the seats for our '41 PU, chalk drawing animals or scenery, making doll house furniture, and doing the bodywork & paint on our '41 PU.

I found this site around Sept. 2000 when we began our hunt for a 1940 or 1941 Ford PU and originally signed up under my hubby's name realizing that it was predominantly a man's site. After I got to know some of the guys in the '47 & Older Forum & Bodywork forum, I registered under my own name and became more active in that forum.

I learned how to do bodywork from reading books, the postings on this site and asking many, many questions on this site. I don't know of anyplace else that you can get this much free information.

A few months later one of the Mod's noticed my frequency in the 47 & Older forum and asked if I wanted to moderate it since it didn't have one. Wah-lah - - You guys have been stuck with me ever since and I've enjoyed every minute of it.

Aloha,

My name is Ken and I live on the Big Island of Hawaii.

I found FTE after buying my Excursion and looking online for some info on it. I quickly became addicted and later emailed Ken asking if I could help out on the site. He gave me the Super Duty forum.

I eventually took over the Excursion forum and the Expedition forum. Ken (webmaster) set up the V10 forum after another request by me to add it and I started Moderating that one, too.

During my move back to the Big Island from Massachussetts about 1.5 years ago, I gave up the busy Super Duty forum and turned it over YETI. But kept the others.

I really enjoy being a part of FTE! And in the past have been known to create quite a stir on these particular boards. (all for the good, mind you.)

My wife and I own our own company here and raise our four kids on our 6 acres 3 miles west of the town of Hilo. I spend much of my day enjoying the beauty that surrounds me (my wife & kids) and the natural beauty that Hawaii has to offer.

We have 2 dogs, a cat and a horse named "Doc".

I am a avid drummer & motorcyclist and am attempting to become a better horse rider.

I now drive an '03 Expedition because the Excursion didn't follow us across the Big Pond. I am currently working to upgrade my current van (a Dodge mini-van for my business) to an E-150 Chateau from Van Bortel Ford.

My ugly mug surrounded by my beautiful mugs can be seen by clicking on my "Club FTE Member" hyperlink.

Thanks for askin'... and I'll see ya on the boards.

Looks like it. I'm guessing that FTE is possibly a full time occupation for him. I also gather he has overcome much adversity in life and is constantly learning.

I am Brian A. No suprise there, huh?

I have lived all my life in Alabama - and love it here! 5 hours to the beach, or 5 hours to the mountains.

Speaking of mountains, that brings up my favorite pursuit: motorcycling.
I have owned a variety of bikes - both street and dirt - over the years. Right now I am really enjoying the 3 bikes I own (some pics are in my gallery). I really enjoy sporty riding and have had my son on back for a few spirited rides. He likes it too! My son will be 13 in April.

I am 42 years old.

I have coached his baseball teams, Spring and Fall, since he was 5 years old. That includes 4 or 5 Allstar teams. (sometimes I wonder if that is a good thing )

January will be 18 years I have been married.

Graduated from the School of Engineering - University of Alabama - in 1985.
I have one brother, 2 years my junior.

I have a dog - Rex, and a cat - Chipper (named by my son, after Chipper Jones).

I love Science and Math.

Even though I am from Alabama, I don't give a hoot about football, nor much more than a hoot about NASCAR (although I used to follow both).
I started here at FTE about 4 1/2 years ago. It is my second family. I visit every day I am near a computer.

I love licorice, good coffee (black), my wife's fried chicken, fresh Pineapple (MONSTA!)

My truck is one of my best friends. It comforts me in times of despair and encourages me in times of challenge. I seem to spend more time in it than I do at home!

My favorite quote:
"The tendency to think seldom of what we have, but often of what we lack, is the greatest tragedy on Earth".

6 feet tall, about 176 pounds, Used to weigh about 180-85, but don't work out near as much as I did 15-20 years ago.

I once got the front seat in a WW II trainer and did loops and rolls. Got it all on video to prove it!

I have had 2 disks removed, and 3 vertebra fused in my neck.

I do NOT like planting flowers, hanging and/or finishing sheet rock, or Dr. Phil.

I enjoy firearms and an afternoon at the gun range.

I enjoy feeding birds and really like Hummingbirds. I have had them land on my finger to feed at the feeder.

I once squatted 455 pounds. It is now hard just to squat and stand up.

I get too little sleep.

I enjoy cutting grass.

I like it hot in the summer, and cold in the winter.

I enjoy life - even when things aren't going so well.

Here you go !
It's the best I can do.

Male 54,.
Born in Saskatchewan, Moved to Calgary Alberta with my parents in 1951.
I am the 2nd child of 3 with a Sister on either side of me.
Lost my 65 yr old Mother in 85.

As a child & teen I loved sports of any kind but, because of my small stature (at 16 I was 5' 0" & 105 lbs) I wasn't able to participate in many school sports,so I started my own teams in Football,Baseball & Soccer

Greatest moments of my life:
1) Working for ABC TV at 1988 Winter Olympics,
2) Playing Golf with Mickey Mantle & NHL Hockey Great Bert Olmstead
3) Sitting in the capsule Friendship 7 at 62 World's Fair
4) Cooking for Calgary Flames players & talking with Wayne Gretzky.
5) Going to Dearborn & Detroit in 03
6) Winning a Golf Tournament in 1971

Employment
Worked for (in order):
Drug store,combination Car Wash/Auto Dealership,Service Station.
I loved school so much ,I stayed an extra year (8th Grade), I eventually got all the diploma's.

In 1986 I had worked for a Lumber & Concrete company for 22 years. Started working around car's with Dad about the age of 8,then took automotives in High School for 3 years & received a 3 year Mechanical License equivilency. After a year off, I went on to college for Business Admin.

I Got through the 50's,60's,70's.80's,90's & 00's without the use of illegal drugs.

Non-Smoker,Social drinker of Beer /water.

Have had Numerous Girlfriends, that all gave me directions.

The First car I bought was a 67 Nova SS /327 (what a stupid place to put a starter solenoid !)

Favourite vehicles I have owned : 67 Nova,68 Volvo 123 Gt,64 1/2 & 68 Mustang & of course my 78 F-150.

Working and making good money plus the $3000 discount, I paid cash for my Brand new Truck in May of 78 for $6450.00.

My Hobbies were:
Golf, Horseshoe's,Bowling, Modeling

Now they are:
Die-Cast collecting,Belt Buckle Collecting,Eating & FTE

After suffering a stoke (TIA) in 1986 & developing a disease called Fibromyalgia among other things ,I have seriously battled to have even half decent life for years.

I have learned so much about the human anatomy & medical jargon sometimes my brain gets caught been movies .

From There:
I knew I needed something to do to keep my mind occupied until I arrived at FTE in 2001,so I began a career in Karaoke Singing & ended up doing it until my tonsils were removed at the age of 45. "Elvis left the building"

In April 1993, I was hosting a Karaoke show when I got to introduce this person by the name of Michelle, onto the stage.
3 months later I asked her out for breakfast & as of July this year we have celebrated 11 years together.

2001 was when I found FTE, I was doing some soul searching....some research on Endocarditis......& trying to find some replacement carpet (green) for my truck.

Research: In March of 2001 I almost lost Michelle because of the lack medical care.
She suffered 2 strokes, had open heart surgery, and a finger amputation within 3 week period. With her in ICU, I needed something to occupy my mind & stumbled onto FTE.
After jumping in and giving directions to users about: Where to Post,etc...It was thought by Ken & decided by the Moderators at that time to take advantage of my extreme energy & make me a moderator, then later an Administrator.
That was in May 2002.

In Jan 2003,Ken & I were finally able to meet in Dearborn Mi, at the 2004 F-150 Reveal.
He wasn't at all like I envisioned ,he ended up being better than I imagined.
We seemed to be okay with each other and phoned each other occasionally.
We saw each other again last year in Vegas for the SEMA show. Michelle I was fortunate enough to meet Ken's family & thought how wonderful this was.
Ken's children & Peggy to Michelle were an instant hit (especially at the casino's)
I am very proud to call Ken,my friend & mentor.

In Vegas I also got to meet Eric (Torque1st).He too was not how I envisioned.

It took me a while to get the accents right with these guys

I have personally met close to 50 FTE people in the last 3 years.

I owe so much to FTE & its supporter's through the years for helping to get me through the most stressful & terrible period of my life, dealing with Michelle and her near fatal experience.

From being Over-Zealous to (apparently) the Understanding Uncle
I also appreciate all the respect & support I have received from FTE Moderators.
It is almost automatic when someone asks how many friends I have & I answer 999,999 & it seems they are all (except for 20+) located on FTE!
There have been times when I couldn't leave my seat to go do other things.Yet there were other's when I suffered from Withdrawl.

Thanks Dennis. You are a great person to have around. You are right when you said how many friends you have. I have never considered anybody to really be a friend until I met them in person. But you have changed my thinking. I have a strong Christian faith and people ask how I can beleive in some one that I cannot see. Now I see what these two things have in common. Faith in God and Faith in man kind. I don't always to see, to trust. Thank you.

P.S. Good story Dennis. BTW, everyone, that truck he paid for was in Canadian dollars too! You Americans could have bought it for like $500.
