Was that directed at me, Ford 5.8? If so...I don't know how they would sound on a 302. 351 or a 460...that's a different story.
36.94 roughly (73.88 for a pair on website, magazine has a misprint there for the P Horny) for 3" inlet 3" outlet packs. would be interesting.
I personally am buying Dynomax Thrust Magnum Glasspack's P# WLK-24205 - 2.25" IN/OUT with 26" long case (31" total) for 17.95. Ought to keep my 302 pretty mellow. Then the tips from a website provided to me from somebody on here - Lawson Industries 2.25" Inlet 4" Outlet Stainless 22" tips. The rest of it...will be from the shop. 89.88 dollars total for my glasspacks and tips - the primary parts of the system. If I didn't have bodywork (which I've posted elsewhere on the site) I'd also be buying BBK 1.625" headers as well for 160 dollars. So...that'd bring my cost up to roughly 400 dollars for a head-back exhaust system. Anyways..enough there....
I put D40's on my B2 yesterday, and it sounds really good, I have gutted cats on mine, and I added a turn down right out the D-40 and it sounds deep and rumbly. I pulled up to autozone after I got it (needed some fuses) and one of the guys came out and asked what I had under the hood, he thought I had swapped in a 302 with the way it sounded. But it feels faster than when I had nothing on it at all, and is quieter at idle.
Im also gonna take off manifolds and putting some headers in there. Will that affect the sound? I dont care if it's extremely loud. I'm mad at my 8mpg, so if im burning that much gas, people are gonna hear about it
So its gonna be true dual D-40's with exhaust headers.
Headers have a little better tone I think than stock manifold. A little louder, but not much, should give it a beefier sound. Your truck is going to sound good
