E4OD shift question

Have a 94 F150 4X4 with 302 and E4OD trans. Shifts from 1st to 2nd to quickly at moderate throttle. Real pain when you pull onto highway and truck is already in 2nd and have to kick it back down into 1st with throttle before it will get out of it's own way. Just wondering if anyone had some suggestions?

Thanks

Check the voltage on the throttle position sensor. The reading should be 1.00 volt key on engine off. Have you tried to red the codes?

i had the same problem on my 1995 bronco. it might be the TPS but try these simplier suggestions too. how many miles are on your truck, the motor could be in need of a rebuild or some 92 octane gas, that also helps with power problems. you could also check your fuel pump and catalytic converters. i replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter. i scrapped the factory exhaust. i got rid of the second converter and cleaned out the one that the Y pipe is part of. added a performance muffler and dual exhaust. truck had no problems after that. hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions. When I get a chance I will try some of these things and let you know how they turned out. My prior pickup was a 79 F150 with a 460 so I am probably expecting to much out of this one.

Thanks again.
