2.9 rebuild

i have had my engine rebuilt from the heads up, and the engine runs decent. but decent isn't good enough, i want it to run great so i am looking for a rebuilt 2.9 to put in there. i was wondering where would be the best place to look for an already rebuilt engine, or how much cheaper and easier it would actually be to totally rebuild the 260000 mile engine myself. my tokyo koygo (i think thats right) 5 speed transmission also grinds going in to 3rd gear but it has just as many miles on it with no maintanence, except clutch and ring gear in the bellhousing. i was looking for a rebuilt tranny also, but i can't find a place to get one. any comments would be greatly appreciated

2.9 rebuild

In 1999 I rebuilt mine & put World Casting's redesigned heads. I had a machine shop take apart the engine after I pulled it and they went through it and replaced everything but the crank which they turned.I put the oil pump, pan , tin etc and installed it. Runs great. The price was about $1700. The heads as part of the package are about $225.00 each. They weigh about 5lbs more do to the heavier casting to prevent cracking.
