Fuel Pressure Regulator Problem ?
It started out only doing it once in a while, but if I held the pedal to the floor, it would start. Then over the next couple of weeks it wouldn't start at all unless I sprayed starting ether in the breather. If I drove it around for a while like into town, I could shut it off at the stores or whatever and come back out and it would start right up. Now, no matter how long I run it and shut it off, it won't start again unless I spray the ether in the breather. Also whats happening, is when I'm driving down the road, it will sound and feel like I took my foot off the gas for a couple of seconds and then go again. I'm thinking it might be the fuel pressure regulator not holding pressure. I've been trying to find just a fuel pressure gauge, but no one around here has one for this Ford. I put in a new fuel pump about three months ago, so I know it's not that.
I checked the filter just before I dropped the tank to change the pump and I could blow through it freely.
I also cleaned and vac'ed out the tank before putting in the new pump.
The regulator is $20 at AZ. Can I pretty much assume it's the regulator and spend the $20 ?
I'm not sure if I can depend on that alone. I just thought it might be some typical problem some other guys have had.

After that I'll yank the battery cable off for a while and clear it. Then I have to take my Daughter to some school function in the afternoon, so Saturday I'll pull them again and compare them. I'll let you know if I get a code 21.
