Hmm, whiskey in a tire . . . THAT would be cool. You could have a different spirit in each tire and carry a spare if you need a fifth (no pun intended).
I'm still trying to decide if I want to go bb's again or try antifreeze this time. Still, booze and taps in my rims would be hella cool. Your gonna have to get that pneumatic blender once your oba is up
what about something that won't distort like those golf *****?!?! like maybe a couple of pinballs in each or marbles? maybe if it wouldn't distort it would be safer! i dunno if i like the idea of antifreeze in my tires....although i know tractors do it but they also don't run 55-60mph either (well mione doesnt, lol)
Marbles would shatter and leave you sharp edges flyinh around inside your tire. I think some steel shot would work alright but if you're going to do that why not just go with bb's? I don't see any issues with the antifreeze but I wonder how messy it would be if you had to patch it or break it down for any reason. If my rims show up this week I might try the antifreeze this weekend. So many tough decisions to make.

I think the antifreeze is just a mess ready to happen..
After reading this thread, I am just wondering why nobody has mentioned Slime? You know, the thick, heavy, viscous green stuff that you put in ATV tires? It would certainly seem to have the weight, so less would be required than antifreeze, plus it's designed for tires and would prevent flats as an added extra. Is it not heavy enough, or would you need too much?
I've never liked the idea of Slime just because I don't want that messy gunk floating around inside my tire. It's a PITA if you have to change or repair it (not that antifreeze wouldn't be). But I suppose it would work fine for balancing a big tire.
Slime would certainly work. Antifreeze is just a cheap alternative. All in all, I think bbs are still probably the best bet, and probably what I'll just use again once I get the equal out of my swampers.
Well, that's what I'm thinking. Granted, it's a mess if you have to unmount the tire, but at least it could be "contained" somewhat due to it's thickness, unlike antifreeze or BB's which would go everywhere!
Well, use the slime and let us know after awhile how it works. I ASSume it would work fine, but since its so thick and designed as a sealant who knows if it would really work as good as bbs or antifreeze. Both those substances move freely while the slime is more of a goop. Sounds good on paper anyways.
"slime" would be a pita if your gonna air down your tires. i heard its real hard to let the air out to change the tire once "slime" has been used. I like the golf ball method and probably gonna try that.
