89BII CV Driveshaft?

I have CV joints on my rear driveshaft instead of the regular kind and so far I've gone thru 4 shaft assemblies as the rear joint keeps disintegrating. I keep swapping them for no charge at UAP but its a pain. The rear end is stock as are the rear tire sizes so I can't figure out what is causing this. The rear leafs are sagging a bit. Maybe this slight change in driveline angle is the culprit. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Forget the CV type. Go to a reputable driveline shop and purchase a conventional single u-joint shaft. I did this on my stock 89 Bronco 2 and have had no problems. You might want to verify that the angles at the T case and rear axle are the same or close. I dealt with a company in Connecticut called Connecticut Driveshaft (now Fleetpride) and they had the replacement shafts in stock for about $200.

Phil, you are correct about the worn leafs causing the problem. Mark is also correct in the standard joint fix. B2s and rangers with the std style joints have a lot less problems. Any driveline shop should be familiar with the pieces you need, and some shops have the complete setup on the shelf and waiting for trucks just like yours. DF
