Idle Problem.... Any thoughts?

Hey I'm new to this board, and new to diesels, I just picked up a 1997 F-250, w/ 57,000 on it. The truck runs fine sll the time, with the exception of sometimes after the engine is warmed up, and i have it sitting while the turbo cools down, the motor will randomly stall. I called up ford and they said that it could be a sensor or something, and i don't feel like paying the diagnostics fee... I just chainged the fuel filter, drained the bowl as well. there are no check engine lights on, and the truck runs fine at all other rpm's. Any tips would be great... thanks in advance!

When you were inside the fuel canister changing the filter, something you should have done is to clean the fuel pressure regulator screen. Retrace your steps, removing the fuel filter. On the driver's side of the bowl, about 1/2 way down the side, is a hole about the size of a nickel. Moisten a Q-tip in diesel fuel, and gently reach inside the hole with the Q-tip until you hit the screen. Clean the screen with as many Q-tips as necessary until they come out clean. Typically, it'll take 6-8 Q-tips to get it clean, possibly more if it hasn't been done in a while.
When you're done, put it back together, and give 'er a rip. It might fix the problem.
