Well, no just adding an intake and stragiht pipe exhaust will not turn it into a 500hp screamer. What it will do is keep the egts down, better throttle response, turbo winds up way quicker, and a little more power. Gauges are CRITICIAL the pyro should be standard equipement, dont know why they got lazy and let people burn up ther turbos. Ive been in a PSD with no turbo and it is painfully weak without it.

I have also had the extream pain of not having a working turbo on a PSD and it is a real slug.

I also reccomend a turbo cool down time. After the run.

I just purchased an early 99 also to replace my 6.5td regular cab for pulling duties. I had done pyro and boost gauges, down pipe and running the boost a bit higher than stock. I will be adding gauges to this truck soon and was looking at the mircrotuner or predator. I have read to not expect the published power figures for these as they do not apply to the early 99. Can someone offer more exact numbers for my application?
