460 oil grade
Just got a 1991 460 @ 37,000m in a f53 (motorhome) chassis with a GVWR of 17,000lbs. Live in New England. Frequently travel to to Alabama. Looking for the best grade and type (dino, synthetic, or blend) of oil to keep this engine running good. Any suggestions and basis?

If you switch to synthetic, you might develop some leaks, as synthetic will clean your motor out real good. The gunk is sometimes what stops leaks. With 37k, you might or might not have a problem. Synthetic is better for the motor, though.

There is a controversy over synthetic oil and leaks. Some people say it causes leaks, the oil companies say it leaks better through existing leaks. I wouldn't let it stop me from using it.
What I do is I use dino oil with one quart of synthetic for the additive value. Good dino is probably all you need.
My daily driver in New England gets synthetic for the daily cold starts. On a -20° morning it pays for itself.
