Towing 2 Trailer Question
In the state of New York, I have seen on limited occasions a (always) a Ford pickup truck pulling a 5th wheel , plus a boat trailer...........is this legal in all states and if not what are the license requirements, all responses appreciated.

Its pretty common out west with 5vers and boat trailer,some states allow TT to do it but not as many. Most have there on regulations on total lenght of the combo. I works great I've been doing it for 15 years with no problem.

Some states require an RV doubles endorsement on your license while others don't . If you pull your set of doubles through a state that doesn't allow them they can issue a ticket AND tell you to leave one of the trailers there ! I don't know of a state that allows pulling doubles with a travel trailer ( TT ) , only fifth wheels ( 5ver ) as the lead trailer because of stability , a TT is more inclined to "sway" than a 5ver . Total length is generaly set at 65' but that is up to the states . If you travel any length of time you will see many combos ( some legal some not ) , I recently saw a motorhome with a PU in tow and a boat trailer hooked to the PU ! I can't figure out how states can allow joe camper to cart his set of doubles all over with no training or endorsements and drive as long and far as he wants in one day , but regulates professional drivers ? I would think they both should be subject to the same regulations if they are truly concerned with saftey . I will get off my soap box now ( before I fall off ) .
