an automatic locker locks solid [acts like a spool] when one tire slips. A selectable locker will be unlocked (ie an open differental) until you lock it.

Do a search on this forum and you'll find there are plenty of threads that go into detail about Detrois lockers and how they behave (or misbehave) on the street. I just posted a little info to the "Lockers/trailer" thread on this page.Jeremy, that Jeep is right where it belongs . . . on a trailer!
