E-150 Towing

Hi there, I have a 1995 E-150 Starcraft conversion with a 5.8, 3.55 gears. Looking for more torque, Trailer is 5400 lbs and tows very stable with reese dual cam sway control.Any thoughts? will 4.10 gears make a real difference? K&N filter with a chip? Thanks

I just traded off my '96 E150, last of the fuel injected 351's, 3.55 gears, etc. It was an LCM Centaurus conversion. Pulled like a champ! I'm pulling a 1993 Prowler 30 ft. travel trailer with a sway bar and leveler arms. I switched to a K&N but saw no appreciable difference in pulling power or gas mileage. They always told me the O2 sensor was up stream of the cat on that model so I could have put in an H pipe and dualed it out for more horses, but the 4.10's are going to cost you every mile you drive in poor(er) gas mileage. I drove my '96 over 114k before trading for a 2000 with the 5.4. It appears to be up about 40 horses and about 50 ft. lbs on torque. I'm getting the brake control and hitch installed this week.....headed for the Smokies on Friday!

Good luck!

read my post on "where did the power go". I've been chasing more power and torque for a while now. I also pull a 24 ft travel trailer, goes fine on the flat but OH THEM HILLS!!!
