Maybe I'm looking at this wrong, I don't know...but a few months ago my dad's 96 F150 lost the pump in the front tank. I got a "new" pump and sending unit from the yard (dummy me broke the old sending unit thinking the wires popped off like on the old fords... ) Well that pump was bad too... So to get to the "problem", is it common that while running off of the back tank, fuel is returned to the front tank via the return line??
I went to drop the tank yesterday and it was full up to the filler neck....
I was just wondering is this normal or is something else messing up? We ran my brothers 88 150 with the front tank out and the lines taped for years and never lost any fuel from either line.
Thanks! I tried doing a search eariler but was having problems with my comp. So hopefully the new pump I put in the front tank will keep this from happening again.
Still doesn't explain how we got lucky on the 88 running it for years with out a pump or plug or anything to keep from leaking on the return..
