Fuel Gauge
After checking the pump relay (in a '90 it's not *really* a relay, but a 30 amp fuse in the Power Distribution box on the passenger side inner front fender, with the fuse being the first one on the right (position #1) ) and seeing as it wasn't blown, I took the fuel line off of the filter (frame mounted, under the driver's door) and hit the key. Not getting any fuel from there, I made sure that the Inertia Switch was still made (it is located on the passenger floorboard, under the carpeting, on the firewall right next to the transmission hump. It was a two-wire plug running into the bottom and a white re-set switch on top of it)
I actually ran a jumper wire bypassing this switch (one end of the jumper into one slot of the plug, the other jumper into the other slot) and hit the key.
STILL the pump would not run (you can actually hear it come on for a second or two when you first turn the key).
Changing the pump was a M.F.'r without any help....
William
