Exclamation Rear Seal

Somebody talk me through this, it's the first time. I've got it all apart and I'm looking at what's in my hand and what's on the diagram, then I read the instructions and they say something backwards to what is drawn on the bag. The inside of the seal is beveled and there is a groove on the side. Where does the groove go, airside or oilside? Do I move the crank to the rear and front or just put the main bearing back on?

I got it. I couldn't get the crank to move one way or the other but it's back together.

Make sure to check your thrust bearing clearance man. I don't remenber the spec but I have seen what happens if it is too tight.

Which is the thrust bearing? I can turn the crank pretty easily.

The thrust bearing is on the #3 main bearing cap. You'll notice that this one not only has bearing to the crank, but also to the front and rear of the cap.
