Axle swaps

I am novice at restoration/rebuild so please indulge me. Doing 1950 Ford half ton over. Since original rear end shot and I am planning to daily drive truck, I will be replacing rear assembly as well as front suspension. Research suggests that 8.8" Explorer rear end will fit nicely, my question is what restrictions are there to using the front suspension from the Explorer as well ? What modifications are required to mounting brackets etc. Any input or feedback appreciated

I am looking for most economical /practical rebuilt on existing frame. Flathead may be uneconomical to rebuild.

Start with the rear end swap to get the feel of what is involved. Then if you feel ok continue. The rear will be the easiest, the front suspension will be much harded to do. Maybe just use a suitable newer style frame as it maybe easier to remount the body if you have never done any major suspension work before. Good luck with your truck!
